I need advice on what these repairs should cost in Dallas area .I have 2006 CVT with approximately 50,000 miles. No doubt that the motor mounts need to be repaired (all four?) but the timing belt is being recommended as a precautionary matter. Dealer charges $2000 for belt and $600 for each mount. This is more than value of car. Is there a better solution ?

Find a small shop who specializes in Audi/VW repairs ..I recently had my timing belt replace for $390 (I provided the parts at $145). The motor mounts are not that big a job so I wouldn’t expect much more than a couple hundred bucks to replace those.
