Tire wear, fronts vs rears
Hi,I was going to get new tires this spring for my 2006 A4 S-line with the 18" 5 arms, 235-40-18. But a set of nice used Pirelli P6s have fallen into my lap. Two of the tires have 6/32s of tread, 2 have 9/32s.
Where are you finding your B7 A4s to wear tires harder? The fronts or the rears? I have seen the rears wearing harder. Trying to decide where to install the two tires with more tread.
Thanks!

Tires with most tread should go to the rear
Generally the tires with the most tread should go to the rear axle (does not matter if FWD or RWD) to help ensure the back end tracks a corner in the wet with little drama...rather than washout and spin the car around in a high speed curve.
