turbo-back exhaust for a tip

turbo-back exhaust for a tip
I just got the APR 93 prog. installed on my 2.0t quattro tip. Im looking for a full turbo back exhaust, but it looks like most companies dont make a downpipe for automatics. Is there a reason for this? Is there a way to modify a downpipe that fits a manual to fit an auto?
Also, if I were to go with an exhaust system just from the downpipe back, would I get any real power gains or just a better sound?

Not trying to discourage you, but chip + turbo back may far exceed the max rating for the tip...
There is likely some margin built into the manufacturer rated max spec, but if the "test pipe" really adds 40 to 50 lb-ft as claimed then that should put you somewhere near 340 lb-ft of torque which exceeds the max rating of the tip by about 15%.
Again I'm not stating you will absolutely cause damage. I'm sure a lot would have to do with the way you drive it...just stating a point of fact.

Re: turbo-back exhaust for a tip
Does any one know why none of the bigger companies don't offer the downpipe for auto, but a smaller one does? Kind of makes me nervous...
also, has anyone already run this set up on an auto?
