V1 Hardwired - I need a picture
Just got my V1 and I'm trying to hardwire it. Yes, I did a search in all A4 B6 & B7, S4 B6 & B7 and the "technical articles" and got lot of information in how to do it, but I'm not very handy and I'm looking for a close-up picture of the fuse box and how the wire is attached to the fuse (the couple of pictures that were uploaded in this site doesn't really show detail). So, if anyone has it and can post a picture that will help me a lot.
Thanks a lot!

just re-wired mine "properly" this morning
you'll want to go to radio shack and get the fuse taps, and the female wire connectors that are the correct size for the tap. the ones i bought happen to have a right angle. the fuse tap is designed to slip around the end of the fuse blade, but i had to bend away half of it (the bottom part that wraps around the bottom) because the whole thing is too thick to fit into the fuse slot. try it first and bend it away if its too big.
cut the red (hot) wire about 5"-6" from the built in fuse, and strip away about 1/2" of insulation. when you attach the female connector to it you'll need to crip it with a pliers so it stays in.
i needed to loosen the connector end with a flat head screw driver so it would fit onto to fuse tap. if you must, take it slowly so its not too big. there are ususally 5 or 6 in a pack so you'll have some room to screw up.
i chose fuse 37 (washer pump) because you'll use that far less than the heat blower. the draw from the V1 on a 30a fuse is minimal but i figure you might as well be safe.
i hope the pictures are helpful!

no remote display. i have one, but i'm undecided on where to mount, and i dont want wires hanging
i'd like to put it right in the middle, above the radio, below the blowers, but it would be hard to mount there. the other thing is that its not in your field of view down there. it's inconvienent and dangerous to be looking down to read and to mute. not to mention if i get a real bogey hit then im scanning ahead to locate while im slamming the brakes. all the places i could think of to mount the remote just aren't very intuitive. and finally, i never get clingers following me for my V1. there aren't too many nut job drivers in colorado; im almost always the fastest car on the road.
glad the pics were helpful!

One more picture?
Since you had to... "bend away half of it (the bottom part that wraps around the bottom) because the whole thing is too thick to fit into the fuse slot. try it first and bend it away if its too big."
Can you show me how does it lock?
Thanks again!
