What is the button (with red key sign) next to the rear ashtray for?
Before you jump all over me with RTFM responses, I did browse the manual for several minutes and didn't see an explanation for it. The section on interior controls deals only with dash mounted controls and buttons.

That is power door lock for the rear passengers

Which paragraph? You have to be more exact man.

Thank you both. I am not quite sure what the functionality is and why other cars don't have it
The manual wasn't very helpful in explaining when one might activate the lock feature.

DON'T PUSH THAT!!
|
You're welcome... it's dumb that it isn't just on each door like it is up front...
I guess it is a feature for people with kids.

A tiny bit of security
The driver gets out to go in the gas station, bad guy walks over, the people in back can lock the doors. It's all I can figure.

Re: DON'T PUSH THAT!!
My sister was in teh back seat of the car, and she wanted to get out so I told her to pull the door handle twice. For some reason she couldn't get out.... I finally reallized why, she kept on pressing the rear located door lock button between attempts to pull the handle. UGH

I call it the self trapping button because you can only lock doors with it but not unlock.
And many people don't realize that one can pull the door handle 1st time to unlock, 2nd time to open.
