I think it is okay. Look at the S4's which is chrome too, but without the light. Is the light the signal lights? The surface looks smooth and the edge is fine. So I won't say this is chessy.

Just watch out with POP mode as falses are pretty common. I only use POP mode when I'm on a long highway drive. Frequently it will false from a "crappy" radar detector in a car next to you. POP isn't really used in my area though, so that's why I keep it off.
