What is involved in doing a GIAC tune to my B7 Audi A4 2.0T?
I have a 2007 Audi A4 2.0T Quattro with 22K miles on it. It is bone stock and want to get some better boost/acceleration. I am looking at doing a GIAC tune to the car but don't really know a ton about tuning/upgrading. Does flashing it require me to also get a new PCV and/or DV (or any other new parts for that matter)? Does this increase or hurt my MPG? Does this void my warranty and is there a way to revert back to stock if need be? Is it harder on the engine causing more frequent maintenance?

You don't need to get a new PCV or DV, but if you have an older diaphragm type DV it may tear, simply upgrade to the latest OEM piston one and you will be fine.
The PCV should also be fine, but they can fail, regardless of tune. You can either put on a stock one, or pick up a BSH or Eurojet upgrade (I have a BSH for sale)
As far as I can tell from others experience, the tune increases MPG slightly, but most see a lower MPG due to simply driving harder.
Yes it can void your warranty, at least on things like the turbo itself, most tunes come with an option to revert to stock programming (I believe GIAC offers a flash loader). But, the dealership would have to prove the the tune caused the failure, for example the cam follower happens fails on cars regardless of if they are stock or modified.
It probably is harder on the engine, but as long as you keep up on regular maintenance it should not really be an issue.
This is coming from someone who is not chipped, but has read a lot of threads about it.

naiku is spot on with everything, although I have no idea about an increase in MPG. You WILL see the MPG go down because you will be flogging the car!
Also, if you want to keep your warranty intact, you can try to go with a Stasis tune. I was just at the dealer today and Audi now backs Stasis for warranty (4yrs/50k).
Lastly, you will want to get the upgraded DV, or at least have one on hand ready to replace if you break the current one.
