Default At what mileage should timing belt for A4 B7 be replaced?

Ambitious service advisor today told me the timing belt for my A4 2005.5 B7 should be replaced at 75K. The supplement in my owner's manual says 110K. I've seen some discussion about this on this forum, but not a definitive answer. I always thought it was a great bonus that this did not need to be done until 110K miles and I'm thinking this is just an upsell on his part. Has anyone had experience with letting their timing belt go to 110K? Has anyone had a BAD experience with letting their timing belt go past 75K? Thanks!

I dropped mine off yesterday for a timing belt change, I have 92k, and did not want to push it much past there. I think its really up to you when you change it, wait until 110k, or do it earlier. I guess if you wait until 110k and you have the supplement in your manual, and the belt does break, then you would hope that Audi help you out with repairs.

I've always gone by the rule of thumb change it every 60k miles.

But that's just me, if a timing belt breaks you pretty much need a new engine since the valves enter the combustion chamber and bad things happen when pistons smash into valves.

Will someone chime in to let us know what your dealer charged for the Timing Belt Service. I have not checked with the Audi Dealer but a local Audi / Foreign Car Garage said an estimate would be $550-$600. Thanks.

I got an addendum to the owners manual from Audi about a year ago saying to change the timing belt at 110k on my 2006 A4.
