Hello, I have a 2007 Audi A4 2.0T Quattro with roughly 157k miles on it. Recently, I've noticed that thick white smoke has been coming out of the exhaust periodically, especially when accelerating at high speeds. Prior to the emission of the smoke, I feel a significant power loss followed by seeing thick white smoke in the rearview mirror. However, this only happens periodically and does not happen when I start up or every time that I accelerate. I'm trying to figure out what the problem may be here, do you all have any suggestions?

I had something similar a while back and it lead to the discovery that the internal baffling on the valve cover had started to separate. Not saying that is the first place to look, but something to keep in mind.

did you ever find the problem my car is doing the same thing with 90k on it. losing oil too

It’s probably a cracked valve cover. I had the same issue. Easy to check and simple to replace.
