Winter Protection Advice?....

Winter Protection Advice?....
Am gonna be gone (out of the country) for a period of 5 weeks beginning Dec and was wonderng if there's anything I need to do other than disconnecting the battery.
Living in cold and snowy Chicago, I park my car in an apartment building parking garage (common garage). Although it's covered parking, I was planning on getting a weather protecting, impact resistant cover for the period I am gone. Hoping that will keep the dust and moisture out (for the most part) along with protecting it from scratches etc.
Just hoping the cover wont attract undue attention to my car (as no other car is ever covered in the whole lot). Any recommendations on car covers -- dealers in the Chicagoland area?
Anything else recommended while I am away? Draining any fluids etc?
Thoughts and suggesstions are highly appreciated.
Thanks much...

I would lean
away from a car cover. poor quality or improperly used they can cause more harm then good.
Since you are in a covered parking space, the elements should not play a role here.
Get a good coat of wax on before you leave and plan on a good hand wash when you return.

Five weeks is nothing. I wouldn't disconnect the battery or worry about fluids. But if it were me, I would consider a self-storage unit. For a couple hundred (at the most), it won't have so much as a fingerprint on it when you get back. Maybe a little dust.
