Default 2.0T Overheating

My car has 63k miles on it. Oil level states full. Coolant is just under full line. If sitting at idle car temp will creap up and eventually set off dash alarm. Turn on heat and goes back down. Any ideas? If there is a thread already started. Please let me now. I could not find it.

When the car is idling, there's no air flow over the radiator to remove heat (does the radiator fan never turn on?). Also, turning on the heat means now you're dumping the heat from the coolant into the cabin through the heat exchanger.
Sounds like my old G35 that developed, probably, a head gasket leak, so oil was mixing with the coolant. So it exhibited similar issues, but it was also obvious the coolant was very dark and oily.

There's no DTCs in a scan?

Yes the fan turns on. Coolant looks like it’s normal color at the top of the tank. No oil at the top of the engine. I will sit at idle for a bit with ac on 70, it’s 60 outside. It will be fine a for a bit but the will start to over heat.

I turned the ac down as far as it would go. Car was normal temp. But ac was not that cold. Does that help?

It could be anything. I'd take it to a shop that does 2.0T work and let them give you a diagnosis.
