2010 Avant - missing piece?
Can anyone tell me if the cargo partiton, not cover, is standard on all Avants. I picked up my car on Saturday and my wife noticed it was missing when I got home. Called the dealer and they are telling me they are not standard equipment. The owners manual refers to it as standard equipment.

not sure - I removed those pieces from mine when I discovered that Audi changed it so that they don't fold down with the seats and then you've got to manually lift them out and put them someplace in the back. dumb redesign so I just took them out. I fold the seats down a lot for my MTB.

The shade/net partition came in our '09 Avant. Not sure if it's due to trim level (S-Line). No mention on the window sticker of it as an added option. I removed the cargo cover as I already have 5% tint all the way round (aside from the front windows at 35%). I leave the partition screen in place unless I need more vertical room when laying the back seats down... such as for a large box or some such item.
BUT, For the track, I always make sure that the partition screen is in place. While it is extra weight, I feel that it's design leads it to actually contribute to stiffen the rear of the avants structure. I almost never actually raise the screen though. With the tint and screen up, it is almost impossible to see what is behind you in the rearview mirror...like cars that have lightbars sneaking up on you...
Ask your dealer why some Avants have them and yours does not? Has anyone paid for one? Were there changes from '09 to now such that now it is not included?

IMO; I have a premium '10 Avant that came with the expandable/retractable verticle net partition just behind the rear seats. I think it comes standard, if you opt for the "Sports Package".

It's a safety thing to stop objects entering the passenger space either with the seats up or when folded to be placed behind the driver. I can't believe that this is not a standard item?!?!
