while test driving a q7 tdi this weekend, my dealer told me that they will no longer be importing the a4 avant. it will be replaced with the a4 allroad (which i guess is essentially just an a4 avant). glad i got a '11 a4 avant if this turns out to be true. i might be wrong, but i believe he said that this year or next is the last for the a4 avant in the us.

Any update on the 2011 vs. 2012 topic? I am trying to order an avant with special paint and my dealer told me there are no more 2011 special paint build allocations. He said no problem to wait for a MY 2012 car, but boy would I be bumed if he was wrong. Thanks.

If that's true, I am going to keep my '08 S4 Avant for a long time.

I dunno, the All-Road is just an Avant with an adjustable suspsension and the plastic cladding. Paint the cladding and lower it and it's pretty friggin sick.

Don't the details but I heard it has a different setup regarding the quattro ESP/ASR function. No ESP "OFF" setting etc.

I'm kinda hoping they give the Allroad a little something special over the other models aside from the condom rubber. Pirating the 3.0T from the S4 would be a good start. Offering it with a stick would probably make me trade-in a paired organ.
