Exiting the highway today after my 50 mile drive from the office, I found the engine of our 2014 A4Q 6MT surging at idle, and not so smooth when the idle did settle down.

At home, Carista reports the following:

OBD2 - pending:
P2187 - System Too Lean at Idle Bank 1
P0507 - Idle Air Control System RPM Higher Than Expected
P2279 - Intake Air System Leak

Engine:

04105

A quick search of forums here suggests the PCV is the likely root cause (closing the little aft port on the PCV smooths the engine idle, otherwise, I hear a big wooshing sound from around the PCV). And the HVAC vacuum motors were acting strangly, as if they couldn't find a fixed position for the set temperature.

We're at 55,800 miles, and just at the local dealer for the 55k oil change a couple weeks ago.
Are these things still failing early ?

Sounds like a PVC its rubber and hot rubber perishes fast engine bay temps stay high on the a4's I'd start with replacing it and I think you'll wind the whoosh is gone. I had a LS1 that had this happen and it did the same thing a really rough idle and the same codes just in Chevy terms.
