Default Advice for a new purchase

I am prepping to make an offer on a 2009 A4 2.0T convertible. The dealer has rebuilt the top, replaced the front CV axles, and just had the transmission rebuilt because of a bad bearing. I know nothing about Audi's, and have heard everything from, they're great and reliable to they can be money pits...

I'd like to hear from actual owners what they think... This car has 75k miles, base model, Carfax says it's been in an accident that required front end work (rear-ended the car in front). It drives very nice, I don't hear anything that concerns me and all of the electronics seem to work.

What should I be looking for in the inspection and what can I expect as an owner? I'm looking at it because it's a
convertible for my daily commute.

Thanks in advance!

If you go on audi zine there is a sticky that discusses this topic, I would recommend reading that. There is a lot to consider on a 2009.

Too many fish in the sea! Why buy a car that’s been hit? It will bite you in the *** when you try to sell it!

I spent 3 months finding my Avant the risk of issues after an accident are quite high so just make sure you know what your getting into and that some people get lucky and others end up putting life savings down the drain on Audis It's like anything else it requires TLC very often. A 2.0T service life is 120K so just keep that in mind as you go forward that at that age your probably going to be looking into engine rebuilds. Not that you need to, but you'll start burning more and more oil and possibly have some turbo issues.

My advice is to never buy any B8 variant from 2009-2012. Youre just asking for trouble. The B8.5 (2013-2016) is fine though.

Sounds like a start to a messy relationship. be patient and wait for the right one. I agree with DeltaRover. better to buy later in the B8 years
