2009 A4 quattro 3.2 power surge followed by ESP and CEL flashing
Hello,
Hoping I could get some help diagnosing an issue with my Audi.
I noticed my Audi had a surge in power around 3/3500 revs in the 3rd gear onwards. I've taken it to mechanics and computer reads 'random cylinder misfires'. I've had the plugs and coils checks and there doesn't seem to be an issue there.
More recently the power surges have resulted in the ESP light coming on and CEL flashing, which limits the power to the engine meaning I have to pull over. Once I pull over and turn the engine off, 5 mins later the lights have gone off an I can resume my journey.
I've also noticed this is something that occurs more when I'm driving uphill. Now I have to drive at under 3000 revs up hill or or have to pull over, which is difficult to impossible.
I've already spent too much money on trying to get this properly diagnosed so thought I'd take to the forums.
I did bump into an Audi owner who had similar issues who mentioned the MAF sensor/filter so I'm wondering if I should get it replaced, just don't want to waste more money if anyone recognizes the issue better.
Many thanks in advance.
