AMI/glovebox ‘10
Hi people,
Audi A4, ‘10, 2.0 TDI, estate.
My AMI unit in a glove box is a bit weird, I haven’t seen any of those anywhere before(pictures below). In that block I have AUX, USB and iPod connection cable. For some reason AUX not being recognised on multimedia screen when you choose source. iPod, USB - operate fine.
Main problem for me is that this block hasn’t got AMI connection outside, as I would like to connect AMI-Bluetooth adapter and listen Spotify from the phone without any cables.
Question: if I take off glove box, will I find AMI connection there?
Have not much time to play with car, that’s why would be useful to know if it’s worth spending time on removing glovebox.
Thanks for help!

Maybe instead of providing an AMI jack to plug whatever cable in you need (be it the large tray version like we had in the US or the just a port on the side wall, compare here Audi Radios - Add Bluetooth A2DP Streaming to your Audi - A2DP4AUDI - Audi Bluetooth Adapters), they decided to provide a multi input box. In which case, I'd expect that box to be directly wired to the J794 in place of the AMI port cable. Doesn't seem to be an Audi OEM device. Do you have the 3.5mm AUX jack in the center console? That would have been deleted if the car came with AMI. Maybe that would help identify the glove box device as original or aftermarket. You'll have to get into the backside (topside?) of that glove box to know for sure.
You could just uninstall it and put the normal AMI jack in place and then plug up the typical bluetooth adapters.
