Audi A4 2.7L Auto. Gearbox fluid.
Hello , I'm wondering if anyone could help.
Does anyone know what miles or time period that the fluid in the gear box would need replaced if it even has to be replaced. Cheers.

Which transmission do you have? You say auto, but is that the ZF 6-spd, ZF 8-spd, DSG 7-spd, or the FWD CVT? We don't do 2.7L here, so no idea what you can buy it with.

Audi will say there's no service interval on it. "lifetime".
But ZF says to do a fluid service every 60k miles or so. There's a long thread about the ZF service over on audizine. It's not a simple process, and not something you want a shop that's not ZF aware doing.
My ZF 6-spd is still hanging in there at 184k miles with no service yet.

I don't like Audi UK's site. Very restrictive on useful owner information. But from https://www.audi.co.uk/owners-area/servicing.html
As that last part says, only relevant to the DSG and CVT. The ZF "Tiptronic" is a sealed no-service unit, from Audi's perspective.
Transmission oil
Your transmission oil plays a vital role as both a lubricant and coolant. As it’s subjected to more and more gear changes, it gradually becomes thinner and needs to be replaced. Your Service Schedule recommends this at 38,000 miles and it’s a service that Audi Trained Technicians are happy to provide. Applicable to S tronic and multitronic transmissions only.As that last part says, only relevant to the DSG and CVT. The ZF "Tiptronic" is a sealed no-service unit, from Audi's perspective.
