Default Audi A4 bonnet/hood sensor fuse location & replacement DIy Info

Hi

Looking to see if anyone knows where the fuse for the bonnet/hood sensor is as I have the low oil warning light coming own despite the correct oil volume in reservoir? The display doesnt show that bonnet/hood is open when it is so assuming this is the issue.
Also looking to see if anyone has a DIY for replacing this as I havent managed to locate it through the search?

If the low oil light is on and the oil level is OK then you may have a problem with the oil level sensor. This is located in the oil pan and should not have anything to do with the hood .

Thanks jagtoes but apparently it can be linked to the bonnet sensor as well - so given when the hood is open and it is not shown as open on the instrument cluster I think it might be this.

Don't know about any fuse, but the sensor wires have a plug right under where the hood latch disconnect is located (for when moving the lock carrier into service position or removing it altogether). You might check it in case it was not reconnected or got pinched or something. Just look at the coolant tank and then move your view towards the front of the car to the lock carrier (crossmember that goes over the radiators), will be right there.

Wiring diagram shows it a straight line from the J519 vehicle electrical control module to the F266 engine hood contact switch to ground. So no fuse. I suspect the F266 simply cuts/completes the path and the VECM (?) monitors for current flow. When I open the hood and disconnect the plug, the hood on the car icon on the instrument cluster display turns from red to white. Can also confirm in address 46 group 26 field 2 changes from Lid open to Lid close. Plug it back in, and it goes back to Lid open. So it's very simple; if there's a complete circuit to ground from that VECM pin (T32b/3 for me), it's open. Otherwise, it's closed.

It seems very unlikely that it would be related to a problem with the oil level sensor. The oil level thermal sensor G266 connects to the J623 ECM. Now, there is an oil pressure switch F22 that does connect to VECM T32b/5. Is your light for low oil level or low oil pressure?

Thanks SMac770. The warning is for low oil level.

Just a quick note to say that the bonnet sensor was stuck and after removing, cleaning and re-fitting, both the low oil level warning has disappeared and the open bonnet warning display on the dashboard now work.
