Audi concert protection active message.
I have recently had my Audi concert B&O system diagnosed with a faulty head unit.
ive replaced it with a s/hand unit,I now have a screen and some functions.
i sent the car into Audi to have the system virginised and apparently they can’t get past the component protection.
i have read different posts some stating it must be virginised before removal and others stating it can be done.
There does appear to be adverts on Fleabay with car breakers selling these units s/h stating they also have to be uncoded and then recoded.
Can anyone she’d any light on this problem?

If the dealership can't handle resetting component protection after replacing a piece, go find a real Audi dealership.
That said, the point of component protection is theft prevention. So they might have some questions regarding how/where you sourced the replacement before they reset it.
I don't know to what extent or how Audi actually flags a s/n as theft; without that I don't see the point of component protection. It just becomes a revenue source for dealerships at that point.

The Audi dealership will only try a s/hand part as long as a receipt is given from the purchaser,I was a little mythed by the receptionist when I asked if there was a solution to the problem which the technician may have advised such as purchasing a new head unit, but nothing only to suggest I get my money back.
i have a specialist Audi man in a van trying again this week.
