Audi Connect
Audi's website says the 2015 A4 Premium with Navigation doesn't come with Audi Connect. But, if a GSM sim card is added will some of the features work or does Audi block them out?

Given it explicitly says "without Audi connect®" I'd be inclined to say the SIM slot is dead - GSM radio equipment is either deactivated or not installed at all. If have an AT&T or T-mobile SIM you could put it in and see if you get a connection.

It's a lot more than just a sim card and slot. Likely missing would be the transceiver, antenna, wiring and software coding. Audi Connect is integrated in many ways to the MMI module, screen and control.
