Default cabin air filter

such a simple DIY but I can't get the filter back in.

Watched the videos on YouTube.

Notch is upper right - correct?

Is there a trick? Seems to get blocked for the last inch or so.

Default Same install Issue

I am having the same issue. Watched all the videos which make it seem way too easy. I have wiggled it for an hour plus in all sorts of orientations and it just won't go in the last inch. It is like there is a valve flap or something blocking it from going in. Anyone have a suggestion???

If you made sure they are the same size, then you shouldn't have a problem. I did mine without issue, there wasn't really any trick to it. Try putting the other one in again and make sure your orientation is correct. Try to drop it out a few inches and jam it in with one quick motion.

The sad part is that I DID try to put the original back in and that's the one I can make fit. I am taking the car to a high end german car shop next week for my 55K service ( at 46K actual miles but "2 years since the "35K" service). They are going to do the oil/filter/air filter cleaner/etc. I was simply going to do the cabin filter myself - now I'll let them do it.

Are you sure you have the correct replacement? The are 2 similarly shaped, but different sized cabin filters.
