Default Clutch Failure

I just had my clutch fail on a 2015 A4 at 35K miles. Dealer and Audi corporate/warranty people say wear & tear. What are experiences on this forum about how long a clutch should last? Thanks

Wear is almost always dependent on the user. If you are a conservative driver then it should last for maybe 75-100K miles. If you are hard or inexperienced in driving a manual then it will wear sooner and 35K would be not bad . Also if you drive with your foot on the clutch peddle or if the clutch is improperly adjusted it will wear at a faster rate. I would look at your driving habits and see if there needs to be changes to extend it's life. Oh clutches fall into the same category as brakes which is normal wear and tear.

Thanks Jag. That's what bothers me, since I consider myself a conservative driver; I don't ride the clutch, nor downshift to modulate speed. I drove a manual transmission Honda Accord for 190K miles on the original clutch, which is why I expected more from Audi. But the general consensus I'm seeing is wear and tear.
