Default CVT oil level question...

Long time member doing a little research for my daughter... 2014 A4 with CVT. 38,000 miles and CVT was serviced at 32,000. Recent oil change revealed a leak in a transmission line fitting going to the radiator. Might be just a loose fitting and the indie doing their work is going to watch it.
My question... How can you tell the fluid level in a CVT? How will she know if it's too low from this leak? Thought I remembered reading that you have to count the quarts you put in and there's no stick or electronic gauge. Thanks in advance, C.

You will know when the fluid is low when the transmission fails. Go to either a dealer or a transmission service place and have the leak repaired. They will know how and how much fluid is required. Seems better to pay a few hundred dollars to fix the leak instead of a few thousand dollars to replace/rebuild the transmission.

You're under warranty. Have the dealership confirm the fluid level or reload the fluid if that's the only way to be sure, and have them fix the leak too. Make sure it's on their paperwork what was observed and done should that CVT fail after warranty.
