DLR light remain on when switching off engine if blinker is activated
Hi,
I own a S4 B8 from 2010. It's not a new problem. It was there from the begining.
One DLR light remain on when I switch-off the engine if blinker is activated.
Example: I turn left to park my car. I activate the left blinker to turn and after the car is parked i switch-off the engine with the blinker still engaged. Now when I leave the vehicle car display say: lights are still switched-on. I cannot switch them off until I start again the engine, remove the blinker ans stop again. Only the DLR on the blinker side remain on.
I don't think It's a normal behaviour. Anyone has the same problem ?
Thanks !
Gab

It is normal behaviour and a feature. It is described in the user's manual. I think all my cars, of different makes, have had this function. You have no reason to have the same indicator activated when you start the car, have you, so you might just as well turn it off before you turn off the car.

Gab, welcome aboard!
It's a common function. I guess we're not used to it since few of us park our cars on the side of narrow roads at night.
I'm fairly certain I had to enable this function on my '11 B8.

Similar to the use of parking lights. Many in the US use them as "almost headlights" when driving at dusk, whereas in ROW they really mean the vehicle is stationary - i.e., not moving.
I first saw the turn signal staying on when engine off thing on my Dad's 1959 Euro-spec Peugeot 403 - we had the only one I ever saw in the US without a sunroof since it was not a "for export to US" model all of which had a standard sunroof.
