Default Erratic Tiptronic Shifting

Anyone else have erratic shifting when in D? My example would be slowing down for red light then light turns green, when accelerating tranny slips and jerks into gear- like it's searching for the right gear. Dealer says they noticed it during a check but Audi has nothing documented that pertains to it. The 2010 A4 loaner I had did not do this.
It doesn't do it every shift and it is less noticeable in S.

Thanks
Paul

Many of us who have 09s have experienced this. For some of us, the dealer did a software update, and it's been reduced slightly but it's still there. Just don't do California stops :P

I brought my '09 in for this exact reason one day. Was told that "it's normal" and that they did a software update anyway just to be safe. Car seemed a little better at first, but immediately went back to its jerky ways soon thereafter. I just recently upgraded my APR Stage I flash to Stage II+ and ever since then the tranny has been one short step below silky smooth. So it's obviously something that can be addressed via software.

Only self-induced weirdness. I'll get hard on the gas, and happen to lift just as it wants to shift again, which feels awkward to everyone else in the car. It makes me miss a manual, but not having to deal with a manual in b2b traffic is worth it.

Thanks for all the feedback- I kind of figured I'd have to research a non factory fix...

Same issue here on an '09 (believe I started a thread about it a year or so ago). Seems like when you're below a certain speed or completely stopped, it disengages to save mpg's. That's my guess knowing absolutely nothing about transmissions.

What worried me was parking in a garage I nearly bumped into a wall when this happened, rather than inching forward, the gear caught and it lurched a bit. Has since calmed down after a year (or maybe I'm just used to it now), but it's still more rough from a dead stop than my wife's Saturn...
