Default European Delivery on New A4

I know this thread has been posted before but I could not glean enough information for it to suit my questions.

That said, I know that this is a new model year and I know that it will be hard to get discounts, so I'm probably waiting until 2010 for 3G nav and 6MT.

Does ED even help talk the price down? Or would i get better chances just straight talking MSRP with the dealers?

I know that a 50k MSRP BMW is like 40k ED invoice and 44k US Invoice.. so there's a significant help there..

The price im looking at right now is 45k MSRP.. hoping to get it to around <40k

Anybody have any experience on this subject? From both customer / dealer perspectives?

Default Here's what I've heard

The ED program offers 5% off MSRP for the A4. This breaks down to 3% from Audi and %2 comes from the dealer's pocket. So whatever you negotiate above %2 is bonus. At 45K MSRP then Audi is reimbursing the dealer 3% $1350. The dealer is obligated to give you 2% $900 off but that comes from their profit from what I've been told. So that comes to $42750. Seems unlikely for now that you could go significantly below that but you could certainly get a little more from the dealer. People on the forum seem to be paying 1k off msrp. No matter what though it seems the ED program really on saves you 3$ of msrp and you'd have to pay to get over there and back etc. If you're over there for business/vacation anyway than at least it offsets the plane tickets.

I for one am considering it because I work for an airline and can get over there fairly cheep. I'd only save $1100 or so based on 3% but it'd be alot of hassle to go over for 2-3 nights and pay for 2 hotels, food, taxes on my "free" flight and train transport to Munich (my airline flies to Frankfurt). So I'm still thinking about it.

Default Also you need alot of cash for VAT

You have to put down 19% of the purchase price to cover VAT this is refunded once the car is dropped off. Most likely dealer will hold the check and then tear it up after delivery. May be a big deal if you don't have 7-8k in cash laying around.

Here is where my info comes from:<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/eurodelivery/msgs/352.phtml">click</a></li></ul>

Default thanks for this

so discounts aren't looking as good of a deal as the BMW ED

that's disappointing i might just have to negotiate a good deal for a car on the lot.. or is it possible to get a better deal thru ED?

Thanks for the link.

I like the accessory that came with the silver A4. ;-)

Actually, I stayed at the hotel where Audi puts you up - **** all the way.

Would love to go to back to pick up my A4 TDI. Audi, when is that going to be?
