What's up ya'll. I'm Dave from NC and I just bought my first Audi...feel like i'm at an online AA meeting or something ...ya know, "Audi's Anonymous" .The car is Actually for my teenage daughter so she can look cool with all of her fast and furious friends, but I have to admit I kinda like it myself and she might be SOL. So, I'm ready to start throwing some bucks at this car, and I think wheels and brakes are first up. It has some issues, like an intermittent check engine light, that I cant remember the codes for at the moment but will post them soon as I check again. It has about a 2 second lag when putting into drive, the traction control light's on, and anytime I hit the brakes, it shakes like a ladder with my worst enemy at the top. The tires and rims have been gouged up a bit also from curbs or something. Carfax is clean but it did have a minor accident on front passenger side, and quite a few maintenance records noting performed alignments and tire checks/replacements. So without assuming the worst case scenario on all of that, I was thinking put some decent new rims and tires along with some performance brakes and rotors to ensure nothing is bent up, maybe start with the sensors for the check engine and traction control issues, and as far as the lag when putting in gear, I'm just hoping that isn't a major Trans issue (not the dress up like a girl kind but the shifting kind), but have no clue. FYI I'm planning on doing most work myself with my kid but have been advised to take it into the dealership first, by a few people. Don't really want to give them my money but what do ya'll think? I appreciate any replies and helpful information and look forward to building this thing.
