Front diff seal leak

Not sure what the "inner seal" is. Are you referring to the left flange shaft seal which is between the front diff and torque converter?
The service manual procedure for that does start with "Transmission removed and mounted to the engine/transmission holder.".
For the right flange shaft seal and the cover o-ring, neither require transmission removal from what I see in the service manual.

Front diff leak
Do i need to take out tranny to change the seal?
I believe it's the drivers side axle seal that's the problem .you can notice the leak when looking in the inspection hole in the bell housing towards the diff

Yeah, that would be the left flange shaft seal. You have to drop the tranny and remove all the front diff internals to press a new seal in for that. The new seal presses into place from the inside of the front diff.
At least, that's the process in the service manual. I assume there's not enough clearance in front of the front diff cover to remove the front diff mech, thus the need to remove or at least drop the tranny.
I was wondering what that cover was for when I was under there recently doing control arms. I'll have to take a look and see on mine.
