Good and bad of 2013 A6 loaner

So I've been fighting a CEL that's gone on and off for a month or so, without any difference in engine performance. I finally took it in a couple of weeks ago to scan and diagnose. They found a fault with the turbo, but nothing wrong with it. Cleared and sent me on my way. A day later it popped on again after throwing it in S mode to get on the highway. I took it back and same code came up. They decided to replace the turbo which is still under warranty.
I dropped it off today and got a 2013 A6 3.0T as a loaner. I took my time on the way to work to take it all in. It's a great car with ALL the options. On the flip side, I got call from the tech saying that my intercooler is dinged up and it loses pressure when injected. If left alone, I'm still going to get the CEL and turbo fault. If replaced, everything back to normal (still with new turbo) but $450 less in my wallet. I'll do it, but it was a kick in the nuts after the high from the A6.

Your thread title is a bit misleading. Thought it was about your impressions good and bad with the A6 loaner. :)

I can see that. My intentions were to grumble about my set back with the A4, which gave me the opportunity to enjoy the A6. Unfortunately my "no cost" repair turned awry. I would have posted the impressions in the A6 forum for sure, but now that you mention it....

It's a hell of a car. I don't really want/need a car that big but the power takes care of it. Steering and suspension were what I expected, although I never really got it loose. Using Tiptronic is a must.
The tech on the inside is really nice, as well as the larger HUD and tach display. The nav/media screen is huge but it's nice that it will tuck away without affecting your music source. I don't think I would drop $55 - 60K on an A6 with the other options out there for smaller, more powerful cars. But it was nice for a day.

How does the intercooler get dinged up? Did you hit something on the road? If not, did the people who performed your last service screw up?
