Default 100 miles = one quart of oil !!!!

Just bought a 2010 2.0 A4 with 77K miles that consumes 1 QT of 5-40 every 100 miles. Thats indicated on a stick as well as the MMI. And no smoke out tail pipes even on full acceleration.

Anyone have an idea what could be wrong with the engine ?

How many quarts does it consume parked in your driveway? I've never read about consumption at that rate, it could be a leak.

don't assume dipstick error, it may be real....there was bad batch of rings, replaced by audi in 2009-10's I recall. I bought some out of warranty. If it is a dealer sale, return to dealer and document, if it is a CPO with a 100,000mi warranty breathe easy and return to dealer.

Contact a dealership. Audi is doing good-will repairs for out-of-warranty cars with this issue. They may offer to split the cost, though.

If this is the case you have a big problem and will most likely get into an argument with an Audi dealer. I would run back to the place that sold you the car and go for a lemon law issue. You may need a lawyer but take the car back. If Audi says that they will fix it but you need to share the cost then figure another $500- $1000 coming out of your pocket. This is one of the reasons that you buy these cars as a CPO so they can fix the oil design flaw.Just remember when someone says "they just got a bad shipment of rings" it really means that Audi did a **** poor quality job on the engines.
