I don't know whether to laugh or cry @ J.D. Power "Predicted Reliability" for B8 A4
2.5 out of 5. Just "average."<ul><li><a href="http://www.jdpower.com/autos/Audi/A4/2009/Sedan/ratings">J.D. Power Ratings for 2009 A4</a></li></ul>
|
Also note performance, design, and quality are "from previous model year".
|
Actually
They would say that 3 filled in bubbles is "average" and two is "the rest" so the A4 would be below average and above the rest at 2.5 bubbles
|
true story

Compared to BMW and Mercedes, which score below average, this is a compliment.
A more fair rating would be to compare the A4 to it's direct competitors (see above). If done, it would be above average.

Hmmm. I don't care about J.D. Power, TUV is more up my alley, wonder what they have to say about this car.

sounds about right to me
you'd have to be crazy to say an audi is a reliable car.
its a great car.. but reliable.. that it is not. |
According to the last four years of Consumer Reports research, the A4 is "average."
Compared to it's German counterparts, it comes out on top. It's no Toyota, but Audi has made great improvements in the last ten years.
|
I was just going to mention that....
This has nothing to do with the 2009 B8. It's simply a compilation of their own data on the B7 that's being projected for the B8. There's no real world relationship to the B8.
This is my third Audi. My previous ones were a 2003 A6 2.7T and a 2006 A4 2.0T. My service history, in total, was a leaking headlight washer on my A6. My own experience is obviously just anecdotal, but these have been among the most reliable cars I've ever owned. |
True though to the average joe consumer they probably won't recognize that fact
