I "upgraded" to the APR/Carbonio box awhile ago which was a waste of $400. I didn't notice any difference in performance coming from a K&N filter ($59) with the stock airbox. The K&N intake units that I've seen installed have several gaps that will allow heat from the engine compartment into the intake, so I'm not seeing much benefit from that either. The Injen unit has no heat shield at all so all 3 are a wast IMHO.

ive had my k&n typhoon intake for about 6 months now and i love it. it has a heat shield which blocks the heat from the engine from going into the intake. k&n all the way and they have been around for years.

You really think that flimsy plastic heat shield is doing anything? It's a hot air intake that makes noise (not power), plain and simple.

It would of melted the first day I put it in. IMO I definitely noticed an increase in power. If you look at all the big turbo guys they all have a cone or k&n filter in there BT Setups.
