Thanks for the feedback. I'm still working with
Audi North America and they want me to take the car to another
dealer for second opinion. If nothing is done I will be on my own
and make your mod for sure.

The second dealer I went to found a problem
with one of the motors in the seat back. They don't think its going
back all the way. They're ordering a seat back with all new
internals. The service mgr said they had problems like this with the
B7 and B6 models. But this is a first for him with the new B8 sport seat.
Usually its because a heavy set person is sitting in the
seat and breaking the motors some how with to much weight. I'm not heavy set so I'm very
curious to what they find went wrong. I hope this gets fixed.
I'll keep you guys posted on the final result.

Got my car back. What a hack job that was done on
my seat. So mad right now. They told me that they would replace
the seat back. So I thought it was the whole back part of the seat.
NOPE! They had some interior guy pull apart my seat. He pulled the leather
off and replaced the frame work in the back part of the seat. When I got
the car back the seat looked like s%$*. The side bolsters have wrinkles
in them now because the leather is no longer tight. It looks like my seat aged
5 yrs on those parts. Also my lower seat cushion has a portion that has a pushed
in dimple in it. Probably because the guy was wrenching on it. And the weight of it
was on something. The job was supposed to take one day and it ended up taking two.
I went back after day one to get stuff out of my car. When I got to my car its in the back
of the dealer next to a fence thats like 10 feet from the freeway and right next to trash cans.
They treated my car like it was alley trash. Freeway dust all over my freshley waxed and polished black car.
The guy was working on my seat in the back of a
1985 toyota pick up truck in 100 + degree weather. My seat out in the nasty smelly sun with some
hill billy wrenching on my leather. So F ing pissed right now. To top it off my seat feels no better than before.
Great. right. All for nothing and now my seat looks like garbage. I told Audi of North America to stop
being cheap and give me a new seat for what they put me through. This is a $55k car and I've been treated
like its some used peace of crap. Cant believe this.

This usualy happens when you change the interior of the seat and put back the old cover. I'm a tecnician in a dealership and it's always a pita to replace a part in a seat. It takes a lot of patience to make the cover go back the way it was before. It sucks that you have a new car and they butchered your seat.

I would probably get mad at audi to!

What a terrible story. I would be furious. I can't see how the dealer decided it would be a good idea to tear a seat apart and try to put it back together vs. just installing a new seat. Hope they make it right, and I would complain and/or raise hell if I were you until they do so.

Thats exactly what I'm going to do. It's a $55k car.
I probably would be treated better at a Hyundai dealer.
It's a shame. I love Audi and Vw, but they disappoint
in customer satisfaction .

Did you ever manage to get the seat fixed or replaced?

I have the same problem in my A4 avant. The seats are the S-Line leather and alcantara. I can last only 20 minutes before they start hurting my back.

I tried relaxing the lumbar clips but it didn't help. I am now removing the whole lumbar assembly. If this doesn't work I will have to sell the car after only 2 months.

Bumping this up from the dear but - can someone provide detailed instructions on how to remove the back seat cover? I got the side clips removed, but the two bottom jaw-type clips will not budge regardless of what I do.

I'd rather like to avoid paying a professional shop unless I absolutely need to :\
