Misfire and stalling at low rpms? Need help
I have a 2009 Audi a4 2.0 turbo. It has recently starting acting up. At cold temp everything runs fine, but when it is warmed up at a hot temp it starts acting up. At lower rmps (under 2000) it has a misfire and the epc light flashes but at higher rpms (over 2000) if I use manual shift it runs fine. Under hard acceleration it seems to be fine. Also at take off if I am light on the throttle it will tend to stall and have to be restarted. Another light that comes at at lower rpms when warm is "turn off engine and check oil". The level is fine and I used 5w40 Royal Purple oil when it was changed. The problem has been happening for couple months now, hasn't got worst over time.

I have been dealing with this same issue as describe for a year now. My code are P2188 and P2178. It's like the ECU is trying to adjust to the heat of the engine but somehow it's doing the opposite of what it should do for correction.

I replaced the HPFP which appear to have resolve my issue. No issue with the 80 degree the pass couple of days in Michigan this week. Last year, I replaced only the seal for the HPFP which did not help.

I have it in the shop right now, my mechanic tells me it has low oil pressure when its at operating temperature and that is causing the timing to be thrown off. If anyone has had any similar issues any feedback would be awesome.
