I came from a w203 C class Mercedes to a brand new A4 last year. One thing I have noticed there is dramatic difference when it comes to noise when the sunroof is open. The Mercedes was very quite and I find the Audi's is a lot noisier.

Example, it's especially noisy when windows closes but sunroof fully open. It's hard to explain but the wind seem to 'thump' in noise wise. Open the windows a little and it gets better.

I put it down to the wind deflector, the Mercedes one seems a lot better. I drove and Audi A1 with the larger sunroof and it was the 'best' noise wise out of then all, but the deflector is totally different to the A4s.

Has anyone found this with their sunroof and is there a solution?

Really?? I find the Audi is great at avoiding buffeting (that WHUMP WHUMP you get in some cars when a window is open). I often drive my 32 mile commute with the sunroof fully open at 75mph - I mean it's noisy at that point, as you would expect for driving 75, but it's not annoying. Is your wind deflector stuck?

In contrast my wife has a GLK: If the sunroof is fully opened it goes WHUMP WHUMP WHUMP. And forget about cracking a side window at speed - it will blow out your ears. Her previous was a C300 that had a mesh diffuser that was pretty noisy - but didn't buffet.

Deflector isn't stuck. Happens at much lower speed. 60km/h for example.
