Default New to the forum - always wanted an Audi

I always wanted an Audi, especially when I lived in Oregon & Washington. Once I moved back to NJ (5 yrs ago) I pulled the trigger on a 2011 A4 Quattro. It's my favorite vehicle I've ever owned. I just ordered a set of Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 tires for it. The Audi dealer said my battery failed its test so they recommended I get a new one - $390 installed. I'm also very happy because my car has 117k miles on it and since August - it's been to the dealership 3 times for repairs. First time they replaced the Turbo ($2700), second time was the water pump ($1300) and this last time they replaced the timing chain, tensioner, cylinder head & a lot of other parts for $6252. But since the car is still under warranty with a zero deductible - I escaped unscathed (thank God). After I get the tires on, I will get a new battery & new wipers. Also just had the spark plugs replaced. The only thing that bothers me about my car is that I bumped into something & cracked the front bumper - I can't go through insurance though (long story) so I'd have to pay for it out of pocket.

Anyway - glad to be a member here and look forward to participating on the forums

Congrats on your purchase and kudos on the free repairs. German cars can be expensive to maintain unless you can maintain them yourself. I've had nothing but VWs and Audis for the past 17 or 18 years and I've learned a lot about maintenance. I finally retired my '99 B5 Passat a couple of years ago and picked up a '13 A4 FWD that turned out to be a complete lemon. I traded it in on a '14 A4 B8.5 Quattro less than a year later and I love it. The 2.0T makes my old 1.8T look sick. The throttle response is so much better with virtually no turbo lag. The only maintenance I've done on it so far is an oil change and a recall notice, although I did install my own dipstick and upgraded the Audi Concert system with an Alpine X701D-A4 head unit. Having to monitor the oil level via the display instead of a dipstick is the dumbest thing I've ever seen.
