Default Interesting brake FYI

A few weeks back my kid got a "brake" message on her info screen. When we bought the car as part of the CPO they installed new brakes and rotors. Well 30,000 miles later and the front pad warning came on. I picked up a set of front pads for a 2009 A4 Quattro . The kid was in for the easter gathering so yesterday I pulled the front wheel and low and behold the pads were the wrong size. The side of the front calipers is pretty impressive. I had to run to 4 different parts stores to finally get a set of pads. Unfortunately they were not ceramic but I didn't have any options. There is a significant difference between the 2007 (previous car) and now the 2009. So make sure that you check your caliper size if you are getting new pads. Also the brake warning sensor is on the driver side wheel only. By the way the job is pretty simple and it took me 30 minutes per wheel.

2009 was a split model year. I always search parts as a 2010 when the entire A4 lineup was the B8.
