Oil type

I'd like to find out what type of oil is required for my 2007 Audi A4 Quattro 3.2L V6

Any oil that meets the 502.00 VAG spec. In the USA, the Mobil 1 0W40 product is probably the most common choice.

My engine started burning oil when I tried Mobil 1 0w40. Never a problem since using Castrol 5w40 (the one with the yellow bar that says US on it) (and that's the recommended weight for the 2.0T in the B8).
As mentioned, the only strict requirement is VW 502 compliance, after that, pick the weight your owner's manual says to use.
