Update:
Called my dealer and he felt the oil level might have been just a bit too much triggering the sensor. After driving about a hundred miles or so, the message no longer appears indicating I may have burned off a bit of oil causing the sensor to no longer trigger.
HE told me if it comes back, they'll check the sensor.

Did yours show up again after 100 miles or so? I don't care if it's slightly overfilled as long as it won't damage the engine.

Not sure when it showed up after the 5K oil change. I can report that after a couple of hundred more miles, the message has now gone away. The dealer says it can happen with just a tiny bit over but nothing to worry about. Should go away on its own after awhile.

Danger, Will Robinson, Danger....
...overfilling oil may damage your catalytic converter so you need to drain the excess immediately.
Unfortunately damage may only appear years down the road - often when the converter fails shortly out of warranty...

Or in my case...fortunately since I'm almost a year in to a 3 year lease. I'm going with snagitseven and just burn off the oil. If the message is still there after driving a few more hundred miles I'll call the dealer.

Sure, why should the dealer care.?...
...the issue (damaged cats) will rear its ugly at around 90/100k miles when your converter dies a horrible death.
Overfilled oil is a leading cause of premature conferter failure - they are designed to last upwards of 200k miles...

2.0T engine spec is 4.9 quarts of oil. This is simply asking for trouble since most places will simply dump 5 cans in. Who on Earth is going to measure 0.1 quarts of the last can?

Also is 0.1 quarts of overfill really going to cause that much damage?!

Just wanted to follow up on this, I checked my oil yesterday and it now shows the gauge and it's 100% full. So story is if you see a "Please drain oil" after your 5k or other oil changes, just ignore it.
