Quart oil burn every 500 miles (1 liter/805km)
#11
Thanks to all especially treilley who had the stage two repair. My math is that for a $3500 fix I can drive a very nice car for another 60,000 miles. In its current condition, it is not worth much. I am not going to try to hide the oil problem and sell it. I could get another car to last 60,000 miles. Another car will cost a lot more than $3,500. So I will repair it and spend a lot of time at Church. Hopefully, I will have the same experience as T Reilley. I will report back here.

Same situation as you guys, have to add a quart of oil every 500 miles. Trying to decide whether to get new pistons/rings. I have always used my local Audi mechanic and not the dealer. Can anyone tell me what I can expect to pay for new pistons/rings? Is it worth it ? Car is a 2011 A4 with 110,000 miles on it. I like the car, not really trying to buy something new any time soon, also not trying to pay for a new engine replacement either though.
