Default Question

Has anyone purchased ceramic brakes and taken it to the dealer at the same time as their yearly maintenance to get them installed ??

If you did what did the Audi dealership say ?? Did they give u the run around??

Thanks

I haven't done it since I change my own brakes. I have heard of Lexus owners bringing their own oil and filters to the dealer for a oil change.

I would think that it depends on the service department so give yours a call and ask. It doesn't matter what all the other places are doing.

Isn't there a corkage fee?

My dealer wouldn't even mount/balance tires. I wanted a tire they didn't carry (and wouldn't get, even though they carried that brand) and asked if they would mount/balance some if I brought them in at my scheduled maint visit. No dice...

Hope you have better luck.

This is why it's better to NOT pay the exorbitant dealer fees and either find a good Independent shop or DIY. But this is also a YMMV type issue as some dealers will gladly order anything and install it at their inflated fees.

So glad I found a great DIY shop where I can take my car and work on it myself.

Just the hourly flat rate for the labor. It gives the service department a chance to check out the car for other problems that they can sell to you. It makes good business sense.

Those low price quick oil change places do the same thing. They change the oil and try to sell wiper blades, brake fluid, coolant, fuel injector cleaning, transmission service, etc.

Sounds like Audi could could work on their service after the sale issues.
