Default Question About PCV Valve/Oil Separator Versions -AH vs -AK

I just replaced the PCV valve on our 2014 A4 with the CAED engine built in 2013 after the usually symptoms (rough idle, engine MIL, fault codes, air whooshing sound from around the PCV, etc.)

Now that I have the old part off the engine, I see that it is version -J (06H-103-495-J), manufactured in 2013.

Alas, I didn't think to look for the version when I ordered a replacement when it started to fail.

I'm now seeing that version -J was replaced by -AE, and is now at version -AK (06H-103-495-AK); of course, I didn't come across any reference to -AK until this morning !
When I ordered the replacement part, I was only finding version -AH as current (funny how the interwebs work). Version -AH appears to be the current version for -A, -E, and -AC (and is all black).

So, can anyone on the forum comment on the difference(s) between versions -AH and -AK for the 2.0L PCV valve ?

I don't mind having to (re)order the correct version for our engine (-AK) if it's needed for long term reliability/performance.
(And I'll have a very low mileage -AH to offer someone on eBay).

According to realoem.me, J was used till July 10, 2013. Then it was AE. If you go to parts.audiusa.com and look for Engine Crankcase Vent Valve for a 2014 A4, it'll say AE, and that it's been replaced by AK.
It looks like AH replaced AC, which was used on the CAEB till March 31, 2012.

I suspect the AC/AH are for the CAEB with the original crankcase pressure management software, and the AE/AK is the newer units. Part of the stage 1 oil consumption for the CAEB was a new oil separator aka PVC aka crankcase vent with new software; I forget if it increased or decreased the pressure levels inside the engine. When I replaced mine recently, I called the dealership and gave them my VIN to confirm the AK was the correct part for my car at this time.

Will you really notice a difference? Hell if I know. These things are problematic enough when they have the right parts on them, ....

Thanks for that explanation, which is making more sense to me now, since we had a 2009 A4Q that had stage 2 done in Dec 2014. I seem to recall that after the engine was rebuilt with new piston assemblies (all covered by AoA at 90k+ miles) the engine had the -AC version until we traded it in this summer.

But many thanks for the link to realoem.me ! I didn't know about the site until just now -- what a great resource !
