I'm told the grip circumference of the S-line steering wheel, at the top, is 11.5 cm.

Is this thicker than the standard A4 sport steering wheel? Does anyone have a measurement for the latter?

I am not so sure that you get a thicker steering wheel only by specifying S-line. At least not i Europe. I have the round 3-spoke multifunction variant with shift paddles (MY 14). At the top the steering wheel is about 10.5cm (and 11.2 at the "thick grip").

I think that the optional flat-bottomed variant is thicker, but not sure.
