Should I extend Factory Warranty?

Should I extend Factory Warranty?
I have a 09 A4 2.0T Premium Plus.
My car's factory warranty will expire in 3k miles. I'm wondering whether to purchase 3rd party warranty (through Fidelity).
I've had the car for a year, without any major issues.
The only problem I've dealt with is oil consumption. I burns about a quart of oil for 2k miles.
Audi did the oil consumption test and the figures seem to be within the acceptable norm.
I'm not 100% sure about the pricing of the extended warranty, but its roughly $3.5k.
I'd like to keep the car for 3-4 years. Wondering if is worth it to buy the extended warranty.
Any thoughts?

In my opinion , its probably not worth it. You can probably do all the work for cheaper and have zero hassles with extended warranties. You could put that money into an investment to hedge your risk and probably come out on top. But everyones situation is distinct, not sure how the oil consumption issue may affect your motor in the long term as i dont suffer from that issue.

The extended warranties are designed to make money overall, which means if you have the average number of defects, you are better off without that, i.e. most people will be better off without it. If you don't have any cash lying around that you can spend on the car when needed (e.g. 2k-4k), then an extended warranty that you pay through multiple installments is probably not a bad idea.
In your case you are saying the oil consumption is 2k/q after stage I. Chances are it will grow unless you get stage II done so you need to know what you will do with it - put up with it, sell the car, wait for Audi to extend the warranty for this issue, or have the extended warranty pick up the tab.

FYI, this guy was denied denied extended warranty coverage for the oil consumption issue.
