Taking over someone's elses lease?
Hi,
I'm in the market for a late model A4 or A5, and I've seen a buch of lease-takeover offers on craigslist as well as on leasetrader.com or swapalease.com.
What is your opinion about these, are there good deals to be made there?
What kind of negotiations are common/possible? The craigslist lease takeovers strike me as expensive with $600+ per month for an A4. The other sites have leases for less than $400. Is a cash payback to the buyer common, especially for excessive mileage?
I've heard that the seller has some risks in the lease takeover because he stays on the contract as cosigner. How about the buyer? Can something happen to me if the seller defaults, or screws up otherwise after the transaction?
Does Audi treat me somehow differently than the original customer with a taken over warranty/audicare/etc?
Thanks
