Default Is there AntiTheft system?

I have 2014 Audi A4 FWD 2.0 T sedan. I am wondering if there is Anti theft device on my car and if yes, then how would I know about it? Asking for auto insurance purpose. I believe the keyfob panic button is not related to this.

The short answer is yes. All modern cars since the advent of remote lock/unlock key fobs have an anti-theft device. The ignition is locked unless a paired key fob is present, so starting a car without an authorized key is essentially impossible nowadays. Thieves have to get hold of the key fob, clone it or intercept the signal to trick the car into thinking an authorized key fob is present. Your insurance should already know this based on the VIN. In the USA it's also common for car alarms to be standard, which is the case with the B8 as well, but car alarms are largely ineffective these days.

Thanks for your quick response. I inquired for a quote with State farm - two agents in the same city and one quoted with "Vehicle Safety" included in his quote and the other didn't include Vehicle Safety in his quote. Hence I was wondering what made one not to include "Vehicle Safety" in my quote and hence I started thinking about anti theft thing.

Did you provide them with the VIN of the car? Most insurance companies give you a preliminary quote if you don't provide the VIN, and for an exact quote they need the VIN of the actual car.

I don't remember providing VIN # to both of them. If I remember correctly, previously when I had Geico and AAA, they included this discount. I am checking with both the agents about it.

You probably need to ask State Farm what "vehicle safety" means. If that means the driver assistance bs like presense, a B9 A4 might have such things but a B8 A4 would not.

Right, so the vehicle safety discounts are about the safety features the car offers such as automatic emergency braking and collision avoidance systems. Those are optional to a degree. Some are found standard in cars such as ABS, ESP etc, but then if you option the driver assistance package or similar or higher trims some as Prestige you'll have more of those systems.

Thank you for sharing the link and screenshot. That's helpful. Mine is Premium. Will try to figure out with them these things in more detail.

You can find most of that from the brochure, https://www.auto-brochures.com/audi.html

Looking at the 2014 A4 standard safety/security features, which are on all US trims:

Driver and front passenger dual-stage airbags, front thorax side airbags and SideguardŽ head curtain airbags
Electronic Stability Control (ESC) with traction control (ASR)
Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-pressure Distribution (EBD) and brake assist
Tire-pressure monitoring system
Anti-theft alarm system with immobilizer
etc.

I just have to imagine State Farm already catalogs all the available discount-able features of every model they cover, though. Once you say 2014 Audi A4, that pretty much sums it up for safety features. The new fancy stuff that varies with trim and options is new to the A4 starting with the B9 generation (2017+).
