At about how many miles should I rotate my tires?

Yes, clearly defined in the handbook as "from time to time"
But in Audi Service Chart (that someone linked to) it is defined as 5k miles.

I switch front/rear every year when I switch between summer/winter tires and my usual driving in that half year happens to be around 7000km. The last half year my quattro lost about 1mm rear and 0.5mm front. Feels good to stay below 1mm difference.

On top of that the rolling circumference will differ depending on the load difference (compensated by difference in tire pressure). I would be interested if someone knows a way to read out the rolling circumference difference using VCDS. (It is in there somewhere, with most ABS variants for usage by the "tire pressure monitor".)
