Default Trade in bit more expensive car for a less exp one plus cash from dealer?

Will dealers usually accept a more expensive trade in for a cheaper car plus cash from their end?
I am trying to find if its possible such thing cause usually is viceversa.

Example:

I got a 2009 Infinti G37S Coupe that with all option on KBB is ~25,500$ for Trade in Price.
Lets say I find a 2010 Audi A4 for 22,000$, would a delaer be willing to trade in and give me some cash for the difference? like 3000-5000$(just an estimate).

Any dealers here? Please help.

Default Trades

If the numbers work for the dealer they will! A few years back I traded two vehicles on an infiniti and they cut a cheque to me for about $4000.

How to know for sure that the car has Navigation and Backup Camera?
Weird but looks like 95% of cars for sale now don't have Navigation option installed, how can I tell from pictures?

A dealer can and could do anything. It has nothing to do with apples to apples or apples to oranges. If there is a $ difference, you will pay for it or he will pay for it. It's not about giving the dealer what "he wants." It's about money and making a profit dependent upon the market value of a vehicle. If a car comes in they do not feel is worthy of their lot, they will wholesale it and send it away. Again, they will take just about anything, but you only get the going rate based on what KBB and others state.

Sure they will but after buying 35+ cars over the years, I would tell you to not count on getting the dealer trade values shown on KBB, Edmunds or other online auto sites available to the public. Dealers use the subscription "Black Book" database whose values are based on recent auction sales and will almost always be less than shown on the internet sites. A dealer will rarely pay more for a trade than they can pay for an equivalent car at auction. In all cases, you would do significantly better selling the car yourself.
