How quick is your s4?
Hi,
Before ordering my S4 (Due Sepember 1st), I had a decent length test drive which I thoroughly enjoyed, but didn't have the chance to test it on the road against any other machinery of the same caliber!
A friend drives a BMW E92 M3, which I know will be quite a bit quicker (although the 0-60 times arent a million miles apart), but just wondered what your experiences have been in your S4 against other cars such as B7 RS4, BMW E92 M3, BMW E92 335i etc?
What about the E92 330D?? (This is what I'm driving presently)

If your looking for a sporty 4 door saloon class, I think the $$ is better spent on an M3 IMO. Your spending top dollar on a car who's rivals out perform it in almost every way, the only difference being AWD. I'll probably be destroyed by members in the S4 forum, but you asked so thats my honest opinion. I'd also recommend checking into the C63 Mercedes also.

It's been said many times...it depends on what you're looking for. The S4 is the best "package" out there IMO. It looks the best and has the most refined cabin (subjective), interior space, AWD, fuel efficient, and fast.
Yes it's quicker than a 335i. An M3? 0-60 is pretty close, and would be a drivers race. Beyond 60 and on a track, the M3 would win hands down. It's also about 10-15k more though (with same options).
So if being the fastest car out there is top priority, get the M3 or C63. If the other factors mentioned matter to you, I would consider the S4.
Also, I don't know why you are asking for opinions on the 330D? You say you own one and test drove the S4 at length. Can't you draw your own conclusions?

To which I'll add: The starting price of the M3 Coupe is at least $12K higher than that of the S4. With similar options, the difference may be even more. To the OP: Why compare the M3 Coupe to the S4? It makes more sense to compare it at least to the S5. Btwy, is the RS4 even going to be available in the USA?

I did a quick search, and it does indeed seem like there is not even a b8 RS4 yet. But there is an RS5 and a likely plan to bring it over to the U.S. Disclaimer: I did a quick search that was far from being thorough.
